Mandalynn Myers

My work explores the relationship between my life and my interests. My influences are as diverse as the people and places I surround myself with. My art is impacted by music, movies, and fashion and time periods. Ever since I was young I was busy taking things apart to see how they were made and growing older I have discovered the ways to create them. Becoming an artist I have found ways to reconstruct these things that inspire me and form them from clay, paint, makeup and other various mediums. I mold these ideas, words and scenarios until I create a piece of work that reflects the way that I visualize things in my head and use that to share with my audience. I do not consider myself an artist. To me an artist is someone who can draw and I have never been the best at pen and paper. I prefer to call my works of art manipulations. I manipulate physical objects to present my viewer with new eyes. I hope my works can make people consider what is and think what could be.
